The SEIU Legal Plan covers advice and consultation, family law, traffic violations, criminal matters, financial matters, civil lawsuits, estate planning and more. Pre-existing issues are eligible for a discounted rate of 33.3% off the attorney’s usual hourly rate.3 Plus, benefits are available for issues considered out of network. Additional Information
1. Eligible SEIU members are full dues paying members in good standing, and their spouses, domestic partners, and dependents under the age of 26.
2. Family law matters are limited to 15 hours of complete coverage with a 33.3% discount on attorney’s fees thereafter. EEOC and FMLA issues not covered. Bankruptcy, Foreclosure and Family Law have a 120-day waiting period. Once the waiting period is over a member can consult with an attorney on the bankruptcy, foreclosure, or family law matter.
3. Pre-existing matters are covered at 33.3% off the attorney’s normal hourly rate.
